Our Mission

To introduce ever more people to the wholeness and vitality of life in Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Our vision is to spur a dynamic movement of spiritual renewal especially among Asian Americans throughout the Bay Area by turning unchurched, English-speaking, Asian Americans and others into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. This will be accomplished through our five purposes of Evangelism (2 Corinthians 5:17-21; 1 Peter 3:15), Exalting God in worship (Psalm 29:1-2; 95:1-7), Enfolding people into a nurturing community of faith (Acts 2:41-47), Edification that builds them up in spiritual maturity and discipleship (John 15:5-11), and Empowering them (Ephesians 4:11-13) for ministries effectively fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

To house our flagship church and serve as our ministry headquarters, we seek to establish a stable Home Base in the East Bay in a facility where we enjoy unlimited access. Beyond Home Base we intend to establish a network of healthy, growing congregations advancing our mission throughout the Bay Area. These congregations will be communities of faith that also want God to be seen, people to feel loved, and lives to be changed into the likeness of Christ.

Statement of Faith

Our statement of Faith delineates our theological convictions and firmly places Christian Layman Church doctrinally within the evangelical tradition.

We as church affirm The Apostles' Creed as the historic confession of the Christian church. We also affirm the following as a contemporary statement of our doctrinal beliefs:

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible authoritative Word of God;

  • We believe that there is one God, existing eternally in the three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit

  • We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his death and atonement for our sin through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrections, and in his personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit, through the proclamation of the Gospel, renews our hearts, persuading us to repent of our sin and confess Jesus as Lord, and it is by His power that we are reconciled to God and enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe that Christ will return to raise the dead, to establish His kingdom, to separate the wicked from God's presence, and that the righteous, in glorious bodies, shall live and reign with Him forever.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers who constitute the Church of our lord Jesus Christ, which is summoned by Him to offer worship to God and the to serve Him by preaching Gospel and making disciples of all nations.
